This event has hundreds of projects for competition, with only twenty-eight of the projects being selected for the final phase which took place on the 19th, 20th and 21st of April at the Champalimaud Foundation. 

Between the selection phase and the final phase, projects receive mentoring from companies that help projects improve both their technical component and the strategic component of the project. In the final phase, projects are evaluated according to the development of the prototype within 24 hours of the final and the presentation of the project to a jury.

The current team of students from the sea2future project presented an unmanned surface maritime vehicle (USV-enautica1), equipped with electric motors, a basic data acquisition system and an energy management system, which allows it to patrol the coast electrically and autonomously, having won first prize in the "Energy Solutions for a Low Carbon Future" category sponsored by GALP. In addition, this project also won the award for best prototype, provided by Worten.

Currently the vessel USV-enautica1 is involved in the SEMS4USV project.
