INFORMATICS AND COMPUTERS ENGINEERING
INTRODUCTION
STUDY PROGRAMME
The Degree in Computer and Information Technology Engineering (LEIC), is intended to train professionals with skills in the areas of software and hardware digital technologies.

The professional objective of LEIC is the application of digital sciences and computer techniques in the generality of Industry 4.0, in particular in Shipping 4.0. The graduate will acquire the digital skills concerning the different areas of digital knowledge for project and research activities, in their conception, study, design, manufacturing, construction, production, supervision and quality control.

The training of Computer and IT Engineer oriented to the maritime industry (shipping companies, shipyards for shipbuilding and repair, port administrations, shipping agents, companies providing services in the maritime-port area, etc.), aims to train professionals with critical thinking, able to understand the problems, to formulate them, solve them and continue to learn throughout life, developing capacity for autonomous and teamwork.

The course intends to follow the technological evolution in the avant-garde IT sector with the inclusion of the updated concepts of the Internet of Things, Cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, Shipping 4.0, Data and Computational Sciences, paying special attention to the emerging IT systems in the maritime activity. The training of Computer and Information Systems Engineers by ENIDH allows them to be positioned at the forefront of digitalization on board, from the design and architecture of computer systems on vessels to their implementation, maintenance and repair.

The degree course in Computer Science and Engineering lasts 6 semesters, i.e. 3 academic years.

The course aims to provide students with skills in the following areas

Comprehensive and thorough understanding of the main concepts of computer science, including their application and extension;
Knowledge of the fundamental underlying principles of computer science and understanding of the engineering considerations involved in the design of computer systems, and their implementation, application, and use;
Knowledge of the professional aspects of computer science as an engineering discipline;
Appreciation of current and emerging technologies in the industrial and commercial context;
Ability to appreciate and to adapt to changes in the state of the art in computing;
