The entry into force in 2012 of the amendments to the STCW Convention reinforces new requirements for the management level at the management level.

The management level includes Second Class Machines Officers and Machine Heads. ENIDH's Master in Marine Engineering is essential for the training and certification of these officers.

The successfully completion of the first year of the MEMM meets the minimum mandatory requirements for obtaining certificates of competency for chief engineers and second engineer officers of ships powered by main propulsion power equal to or exceeding 3000 kW, as laid down in the STCW Code (Rule A-III/2).
