The vessel USV-enautica1 was born in 2018 with the aim of enabling R&D activities in applied maritime robotics and associated maritime applications, initially with the construction of a multifaceted, unmanned, and autonomous surface vehicle (USV).

The researchers from the Infante D. Henrique Maritime College (ENIDH) were Professors Mário Assunção (Principal Investigator), Pedro Teodoro, Rosa Marat-Mendes, and Vitor Franco.

The Sea2Future project was a pedagogical and R&D initiative that enabled significant technological advancements in the USV-enautica1, having secured support through sponsorships from a wide range of partners:
