The eShip project aimed to digitalize the ship chartering process to reduce management costs and drive the digital transition in a complex and traditionally conservative sector. The project was funded by the EEA Grants 2014-2021 – Blue Growth Program, with a funding rate of 70% and a duration of 18 months (running until April 2022).
The eSHIP project aimed to develop a digitalization model for the entire chartering process, from market research to voyage completion, including freight negotiation and contracting, real-time voyage analysis, laytime/demurrage calculations, issuance of shipping documents and invoices, post-voyage analysis, and regulatory compliance.
The project aimed, therefore, at the digitalization of the ship chartering process with the goal of reducing management costs and driving the digital transition in a complex and traditionally conservative sector.
The researchers from the Infante D. Henrique Maritime College (ENIDH) were Professors Manuela Batista (Principal Investigator), Fernando Cruz Gonçalves, and Ricardo Morgado.
