Research and Development Centre and Maritime Training Course Centre
Centres are functional units of scientific, pedagogical, technical, training, research, rendering of services support in their related areas of activity. ENIDH's departments are the following:
Research and Development CentreThe Research and Development Centre (CID) of the Infante D. Henrique Maritime College (ENIDH) is a functional unit created in 2019, providing scientific, pedagogical, technical, training, research, and service support within its specific fields of operation, as stipulated in Article 81 of the ENIDH Statutes (Normative Order No. 16/2021, of June 17).
According to paragraph 3 of Article 82 of the ENIDH Statutes, the main objectives of the CID are:
• To encourage research activities;
• To foster the launch of new activities, particularly in interdisciplinary areas;
• To establish a balanced and flexible organization of research activities;
• To promote the submission of projects to national and foreign funding programs.
The CID includes faculty, students, researchers, and specialized technical staff with training in its specific fields of operation, consisting of all teaching and non-teaching members who carry out activities within it.
These are the CID's thematic lines:
• Line 1: Navigation and Maritime Safety
• Line 2: Engineering and Digitalization of the Maritime-Port Sector
• Line 3: Maritime-Port Supply Chain Economics and Management
• Line 4: Sustainability and Decarbonization in the Maritime-Port Sector
Centre of Studies and Specialised Training
The objectives of the Centre of Studies and Specialised Training are:
• Develop courses and professional specialised training actions;
• Establish the necessary and adequate interfaces with foreign universities, thus allowing for an effective and quality rendering of services;
• Promote the presentation of projects to national and foreign financing programmes;
• Promote the celebration of conventions and contracts for the performance of professional specialised training actions.
