ENIDH Professors join the Organizing Committee of the SIM 2026 International Conference in Norway
Professors Manuela Batista and Pedro Teodoro, from the Portuguese Maritime College - Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique (ENIDH), are part of the organizing committee that leads this prestigious international event.
SIM 2026 will take place from August 5 to 6, 2026 (with a pre-conference on August 4) at the USN Campus Vestfold, in Horten, Norway. This is the second edition of this biennial conference, which continues the close cooperation initiated in the successful 2024 edition.
The organization of the event is under the leadership of two of the greatest references in Norwegian education and research:
NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and
USN (University of South-Eastern Norway), historical partners of ENIDH in multiple R&D projects and technical-scientific events.
Pre-Conference dedicated to Artificial IntelligenceScheduled for August 4, 2026, the pre-conference will focus on technical immersion and networking between international delegations and Norwegian partners. The technical program will include the module "A Micro-Course on AI for Maritime Training, Paired with a Live Demonstration of Next-Generation Learning Analytics". The event offers early registration and requires prior selection at the time of registration on the official platform.
Call for ParticipationThe conference will bring together researchers, industry partners, and global professionals to debate decarbonization, the transition to green shipping, digital intelligence, and innovation in maritime education. ENIDH's Research and Development Center strongly appeals for the participation of the school's entire academic and technical community, reinforcing Portugal's role at the forefront of sustainable maritime research through the submission of manuscripts (deadline for abstract submission on June 30, 2026).
