Professor Tiago Carrelo, ENIDH's Student Ombudsman, attended the XIII ENPE - National Meeting of Student Ombudsmen, on 5 and 6 September at the University of Minho in Braga.
This event served essentially as a space for reflection and evaluation of the work carried out by the Student Ombudsman's Offices in Portugal, thus consolidating the fundamental role that the National Network of Ombudsmen currently plays in Higher Education.
Considering the current regulatory framework with regard to the figure of the Ombudsman in the RJIES (Legal Regulation of Higher Education Institutions), as well as the future amendment that is planned for this, it also provided an opportunity and space for the discussion of possible proposals and contributions to be made by the National Network of Ombudsmen.
The knowledge of the work carried out by national and international peers, as well as their intrinsic and crucial interaction with students and their institutions, once again proved to be a positive contribution to a better understanding of the role and importance of the Ombudsman's Office in institutions.
The event was sponsored by the Presidency of the Republic and attended by the Minister of Education.
