Between 1 and 6 April 2024, Ângelo Cruz, João Parente, Luis Baptista and Manuela Batista travelled to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Aalesund, Norway, to take part in cooperation activities under the MARineSIM project 'Marine training for seagoing courses'. The various activities carried out included:
- Carrying out basic and advanced training courses on ships subject to the IGF Code (International Code of Safety for Ship Using Gases or Other Low-flashpoint Fuels);
- Working visit to the NMCC - Norwegian Maritime Competence Centre, to hold working meetings with NTNU professors as part of ongoing cooperation activities, namely joint research projects between the two institutions;
- A technical visit to the Norwegian cruise ship 'Havila Krystruten', which has been operating since 2023 and uses natural gas as its propulsion fuel.
The lecturers would like to thank Prof Arnfinn Oksavik and other colleagues from NTNU, namely Professors Viktoriia Koilo and Bjarne Pareliussen, for their excellent welcome and collaboration with the ENIDH delegation during their activities at the university.
