LEIC PROJECT - BUSINESSES
The Bachelor's Degree in Informatics and Computers Engineering (LEIC) is designed to train professionals with skills in software and hardware digital technologies.

The LEIC programme aims to prepare graduates for the application of digital sciences and computer technologies across Industry 4.0 in general, and Shipping 4.0 in particular. Graduates will acquire digital competencies in different areas of digital knowledge for project development and research activities, including conception, study, design, manufacturing, construction, production, supervision, and quality control.

The programme is specifically oriented towards the maritime industry, including shipping companies, shipbuilding and ship repair yards, port authorities, shipping agents, and maritime-port service providers. Its objective is to develop professionals with critical thinking skills, capable of understanding, formulating, and solving problems, while continuing to learn throughout their careers and developing the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The programme seeks to keep pace with technological advances in the cutting-edge IT sector by incorporating up-to-date concepts such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, Shipping 4.0, Data Science, and Computational Science. Special emphasis is placed on emerging IT systems within maritime operations. As a result, the education provided by ENIDH enables Computer Science and Computer Engineering graduates to position themselves at the forefront of digitalisation on board vessels, from the design and architecture of computer systems to their implementation, maintenance, and repair.

The Bachelor's Degree in Informatics and Computers Engineering  consists of 6 semesters, corresponding to 3 academic years.

The programme aims to provide students with competencies in the following areas:
  • A comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the core concepts of Computer Science, including their application and further development;
  • Knowledge of the fundamental principles of Computer Science and an understanding of the engineering considerations involved in the design, implementation, application, and use of computer systems;
  • Knowledge of the professional aspects of Computer Science as an engineering discipline;
  • An appreciation of current and emerging technologies within industrial and commercial contexts;
  • The ability to understand and adapt to developments in the state of the art of Computer Science;
  • Knowledge of information technologies applied to the maritime industry;
  • Proficiency in computer systems within the context of digitalisation on board merchant vessels.

Recognition of Prior Learning (Credit Transfer) at ENIDH
Graduates of ENIDH's Higher Professional Technical Courses (TeSP) may be eligible to obtain academic credits towards the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering (LEIC), subject to the approval of credit transfer plans by the School's competent bodies.
