BASIC TRAINING FOR SHIPS SUBJECT TO THE INTERNATIONAL CODE OF SAFETY FOR SHIP USING GASES OR OTHER LOW-FLASHPOINT FUELS (IGF CODE)

Objectives
This training course is intended for Masters, Officers, bosun and deck ratings, as well as other personnel responsible for specific safety duties related to the handling, use, or emergency response involving fuels on board ships subject to the IGF Code.
Access to the course requires the following prerequisites:
To be at least 18 years of age;
To hold a valid Basic Safety Training Certificate;
To possess a valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
The course fully meets the requirements established in Table A-V/3-1 of the STCW Code, as well as the guidance provided in IMO Model Course 1.22 – "Basic Training for Masters, Officers, Ratings and Other Personnel on Ships Subject to the IGF Code".
Trainees who successfully complete the course will acquire the necessary competencies to contribute to the safe operation of a ship, take precautions to prevent hazards on board, apply occupational health and safety measures and procedures, carry out fire-fighting operations, respond effectively to emergency situations, and adopt preventive measures to avoid environmental pollution resulting from fuel spills on ships subject to the IGF Code.
