REFRESHER - PASSENGER SAFETY, CARGO SAFETY AND HULL INTEGRITY ON RO-RO PASSENGER SHIPS

Objective
This refresher course is intended for Masters, Chief Mates, Chief Engineers, Second Engineers, and other personnel directly responsible for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, loading, unloading and securing of cargo, closing of hull openings, and ensuring the ship's stability and structural integrity.
The course aims to provide participants with the advanced specialisation required under paragraph 7 of Regulation V/2 and in accordance with paragraph 4 of Section A-V/2 of the STCW Convention, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.28 – "Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Service".
Upon completion, participants will update and strengthen their competence to perform duties of responsibility on board Ro-Ro passenger ships, ensuring the safe management of embarkation and disembarkation operations, cargo handling and securing, and maintaining the ship's stability, hull integrity, and the safety of passengers and crew throughout cargo and loading operations.
