PROFICIENCY IN SURVIVAL CRAFT AND RESCUE BOATS OTHER THAN FAST RESCUE BOATS

Objective
This course is intended for seafarers who are required to operate survival craft and rescue boats during emergency situations at sea.
The course fully complies with the requirements of the STCW Convention, as amended, Chapter VI, Section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.23 – "Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats".
Throughout the training, participants will learn the correct use of locating devices, including communication, signalling, and pyrotechnic equipment, as well as administering first aid to survivors and taking essential actions to preserve life and ensure the safety of those under their care. Trainees will also acquire the skills required to operate survival and rescue equipment, take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during or after launching, and manage survivors and the craft after abandoning ship, ensuring the safety of all persons on board.
