PASSENGER SAFETY, CARGO SAFETY AND HULL INTEGRITY ON RO-RO PASSENGER SHIPS

Objective
This course is intended for Masters, Chief Mates, Chief Engineers, Second Engineers, and other personnel directly responsible for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, loading, unloading and securing of cargo, closing of hull openings, and ensuring the stability and structural integrity of the ship.
The aim of the course is to provide participants with the advanced level of specialisation required under paragraph 7 of Regulation V/2 and in accordance with paragraph 4 of Section A-V/2 of the STCW Convention, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.28 – "Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Service".
Upon successful completion, participants will be competent to undertake duties of responsibility on board ro-ro passenger ships, ensuring the safe management of embarkation and disembarkation operations, cargo handling and securing, and maintaining the ship's stability, hull integrity, and passenger safety at all times.
