Objective

This course is primarily intended for seafarers who will be responsible for medical care on board ship.

The course fully complies with the requirements of the STCW Convention, as amended, Chapter VI, Section A-VI/4 and Table A-VI/4-2 of the STCW Code, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.15 – "Medical Care".

During the training, participants will develop the competence to provide medical care to sick or injured persons while they remain on board, and to cooperate and participate in coordinated medical assistance schemes for ships, in accordance with recognised international maritime medical procedures.
