This course is intended for seafarers who are already serving on board or who intend to undertake duties requiring response to onboard fire emergencies. It is normally mandatory for officers and crew members assigned safety or firefighting duties on board ships.
The course fully complies with the requirements of the STCW Convention, Chapter VI, Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 2.03 – "Advanced Fire Fighting."
During the training, participants will acquire the competence to take command of, organise, and train firefighting teams, and to control firefighting operations on board. Trainees will also gain knowledge of fire prevention, inspection and maintenance of fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment, ensuring the safety of the crew, cargo, and vessel.
