TRAINING FOR SHIPS OPERATING IN POLAR WATERS (BASIC AND ADVANCED)

Objectives
This training course is primarily intended for Masters, Chief Mates, and Navigating Officers who are or will be engaged in navigation in polar waters.
The course aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge of the Polar Code and the requirements applicable to ships and crews navigating in polar regions, as well as to develop advanced operational and management skills, including navigation in ice and icebreaker-assisted navigation.
The course fully complies with the requirements of paragraph 1 of Section A-V/4 (Table A-V/4-1) and paragraph 2 of Section A-V/4 (Table A-V/4-2) of the STCW Convention, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Courses 7.11 – "Basic Training for Ships Operating in Polar Waters" and 7.12 – "Advanced Training for Ships Operating in Polar Waters".
Upon successful completion, participants will gain practical experience and technical knowledge essential for the safe handling, navigation, and operation of ships in ice conditions, ensuring the protection of the vessel, crew, and the polar environment
