RESTRICTED OPERATOR‘S CERTIFICATE FOR THE GLOBAL MARITIME DISTRESS AND SAFETY SYSTEM – ROC-GMDSS

Objective
This course is intended for seafarers who will assume or perform radio communication duties on board ships required to participate in the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
The course fully complies with the requirements of the STCW Convention, as amended, Chapter IV/2, Section A-IV/2 of the STCW Code, the IMO Assembly Resolution A.703(17) – "Recommendation on Training of Radio Operators related to the Restricted Operator's Certificate", and paragraph 55, Chapter IIIA of the Radio Regulations. It also covers all subject areas recommended by IMO Model Course 1.26 – "Restricted Operator's Certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)".
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to operate GMDSS equipment safely and efficiently, take primary responsibility for radio communications during distress situations, and avoid accidental alerts and false distress transmissions, in full compliance with international maritime radio communication procedures.
