Objective
This training course is intended for candidates for certification as officers in charge of a navigational watch, as well as for experienced navigation officers and other personnel with responsibilities in navigation operations.
The course fully complies with the competence requirements specified in the table of Section A-II/1 of the STCW Code, as well as the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.07 – "Radar Navigation at Operational Level: Radar Navigation, Radar Plotting and Use of ARPA".

- Basic theory and operation of a marine radar system
- Set up and operation of radar in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
- Manual radar plotting
- Use of radar to ensure safe navigation
- Use radar to avoid collisions or close encounters
