Microcredentials are qualifications that certify learning outcomes resulting from short courses or modules, which can be delivered face-to-face, e-learning or b-learning. It is a flexible and inclusive form of learning that can be combined with other qualifications to enable the acquisition of skills suited to different profiles and needs.
The courses, known as micro-credentials, are certified, short courses that can be attended by different audiences, developed according to the needs of the job market and aimed at developing personal and professional skills.
The learning and workload required by micro-credentials are translated into credits that are aligned with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
The following can constitute micro-credentials:
- With up to 6 ECTS credits;
- Are organized as short courses or modules of such courses. In micro-credentials organized in the form of modules, these are presented as independent parts of the respective course and must therefore be presented independently, with their own objectives, duration and syllabus.
